Description
The United Nations Office at Nairobi (hereinafter referred to as UNON), on behalf of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT) Syria Programme, is inviting interested vendors to submit an Expression of Interest for the anticipated solicitation exercise to establish a contract for the rehabilitation of a series of public spaces and the irrigation canal along the green corridor in Al-Khaldiyeh and Al-Qousor neighborhoods in Homs city, Syria. The project involves the rehabilitation of a series of public spaces and the irrigation canal to increase the use of open spaces for health, socio-economic, and environmental purposes, and to improve public safety and minimize life-threatening hazards to the residents, especially children, along the irrigation canal crossing the city of Homs and its direct surroundings. The proposed target locations include: 1. Omar al Batsh Garden 2. Ibn Hazm Garden 3. Traffic Garden 4. Mukhtar Garden 5. Ash-Shaap Garden 6. Malahi City Garden 7. The irrigation canal in the targeted neighborhoods (Qusour Neighborhood and Khaldiyeh Neighborhood). The scope of work includes the following: 1. Rehabilitation of park fencing, gates, and other perimeter boundaries. 2. Repair and provision of park benches. 3. Repair and provision of solar lighting. 4. Repairs to pathways, curbing, tiling, and other related surfacing. 5. Restoration of public restroom facilities within park settings. 6. Restoration of children’s toys. 7. Rehabilitation of sanitary network and water drinking taps. 8. Cleaning out garbage and debris materials from the canal. 9. Rehabilitation works for the metal pedestrian footpaths over the canal. 10. Provision and installation of metal fences on the right and left sides of the metal pedestrian footpaths. 11. Provision and installation of solar light poles at the metal pedestrian footpaths. The required services include the provision of manpower, supervision, spare parts, materials, tools, equipment, apparatus, transport, and all necessary accessories, such as hardware, scaffolding, and fasteners, to carry out the specified works.
