Brief description:
We are looking for a Solicitor within Governance & Regulatory.
Duties of the role:
o Attend and provide advice to Licensing Committee.
o Represent the Council at Appeals against Licensing Committee decisions.
o To provide advice and specialist support in relation to all areas of regulatory work including trading standards, enforcement action, non school attendance, dangerous structures, fraud, breaches of licensing conditions.
o To represent the Council and other clients in the magistrates court, county court or crown court as and when required.
Essential requirements for the role:
o Qualified Solicitor/Barrister Authorised to Practise.
o A minimum of 3 years' experience of practical legal work of which 2 years must have been gained in prosecutions or licensing.
o Able to absorb and understand detail quickly.
No DBS is required for this role.
