Introduction
UNDP is supporting the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (Ghana) to improve access to safe and hygienic private toilets for the inhabitants of the low-income community of Moshie Zongo. In Kumasi, 50% of its 1.2 million population lack access to toilets in private households. The problem is worse in low-income communities such as Moshie Zongo, where 82.7% of the households do not have access to decent sanitation. The Metropolitan Assembly has considered a number of measures to address this problem over the years. Following previous pilot experimentation, the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly has designed an initiative to provide household toilets to low-income residents in the Moshie Zongo area, by providing low interest loans to residents interested in constructing toilets in their own households. The initiative also contemplates training unemployed youth to build locally designed low-cost toilets. This initiative was one of the 15 winners of the Global Mayors Challenge in 2021. In rolling out the implementation of this novel project, there is the need to undertake the construction of resilient, yet affordable latrine technologies for households without toilets. This activity would require the distribution of construction materials to various construction sites to be provided by the beneficiary landlords. UNDP is looking for a supplier to supply the project with Pragya tricycles and Aboboyaa tricycle for the project office in Kumasi.. Interested suppliers must submit their offer directly in the system as instructed in the solicitation document, following the instructions in the available user guide. In case you have never registered before, you can register a profile using the registration link shared via the procurement notice and following the instructions in guides available in the UNDP website: https://www.undp.org/procurement/business/resources-for-bidders.
