Acivico (Building Consultancy) Ltd on behalf of Birmingham City Council invites organisations to be considered to receive tender documentation for the demolition, asbestos clearance and associated works of Council owned former special school based at Kingstanding, Birmingham B44.
The council owned vacant school is no longer considered suitable and have been identified for demolition as part of proposed future site clearance and possible redevelopment of the area.
This work is to consist of a safe demolition and site clearance including safe removal of asbestos materials both non notifiable and notifiable, prior to the building being demolished. These sites must be well secured by use of appropriate fencing and to complete any appropriate accommodation works during and at end of contract.
Acivico (Building Consultancy) Ltd on behalf of Birmingham City Council is seeking to tender this service to establish a contractual arrangement with appointed contractor who will resource accordingly and to perform these works as and when they occur. The contractors must be competent to carry out works to a predetermined standard within set time limits.
The contractor must provide a suitably trained workforce and must have experience/knowledge of works required to be undertaken. The contractor will be responsible for providing their own power, water and welfare to undertake this work.
The successful contractor will need to demonstrate his ability to provide the service required, confirmation of conforming to current appropriate demolition, asbestos legislation, including other relevant health and safety, equalities and financial stability.
The contract will be let using the form of agreement and conditions of contract which shall be the JCT Minor Works Form of Contract 2016, issued by the Joint Contracts Tribunal with Birmingham City Council's amendments.
It is anticipated the works will commence around August 2024 and completed by December 2024.
The tender process and all associated communication will be managed through Birmingham City Council's e-tendering system 'intend'.
