Detailed description
The University’s Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) project is seeking the services of an interactive authoring tool that easily enables authors to create a wide variety of engaging digital learning materials such as games, lessons, and books.
All interested interactive authoring tool providers must have a proven track record, along with demonstrable knowledge, in successfully implementing their solution in other higher educational institutions. It is essential that the interactive authoring tool fully integrates with the Brightspace VLE.
The list below is indicative of the functionality required by the interactive authoring tool and is not intended to be an exhaustive list and additional functionality may be required to meet the requirements detailed in Appendix 1.
• To reduce technical barriers for staff authoring interactive content.
• To provide engaging and accessible content.
• To provide users with access to an extensive OER hub.
• To provide approximately 50 content types.
• To meet accessibility standards (VPAT).
• To provide grade centre integration and drill-down reporting.
• To provide SSO.
• To provide storage in order to minimize storage on the VLE.
