Works Contractor to carry out a refurbishment of 28 Denzille Lane Dublin 8 Detailed description The principal concerns identified during the design process and assumed methods of working are set out below. This list does not include commonplace site hazards, which are deemed to be familiar to the average competent contractor and can be controlled by normal good site management practices. Falls/Injury – In connection with installation of lights / new ceilings. The contractor must ensure that the appropriate PPE is always worn and that adequate platforms / lifting hoists are available. Injury To Occupiers – from the works generally. Electrocution Above Ground – In connection with disconnection, alteration either temporary or permanent, of electrical installation – use of competent, qualified, electrical contractors and permit to work to ensure all cabling and equipment are made safe prior to commencing work. Manual Handling Operations – In connection with installation items of air-conditioning and mechanical ventilation plant – use sufficiently physically fit and trained personnel provide suitable lifting equipment. Hot Works – In connection with the Mechanical and Electrical installations – by use of trained personnel wearing suitable PPE. Hot works Permits will be required for each instance of hot works. Cuts – In connection with manual handling of glazed panels / construction waste – by use of trained personnel wearing suitable PPE. Inhalation of irritant fibres / dusts – in connection with removal of debris generally, by damping down, use of suitable PPEs
